Thailand Blog part 8, nowa podstrona i artykuły

Przy okazji stworzyłam stronę ze wszystkimi Blogami z Tajlandii - KLIK

Niektórzy mieli problem z przeczytaniem skanu, który dodałam w poprzedniej notce, więc proszę oto przepisany artykuł:

10 Things You Need to Know About "Bones"

Here is your essential must-read guide to the upcoming new album Young Guns.

February 2012 will be an important month for Brit rockers Young Guns. Not only will the High Wycombe five-piece be heading out on an extensive tour of the UK, but the quintet will also see the long-awaited release of their second full-length album, Bones. Recorded with producer Dan Weller (Enter Shikari, Johnny Truant, Buller For My Valentine) in Thailand earlier this year, the follow-up to 2010’s All Our Kings Are Dead features 12 tracks of ballsy, anthemic and massive rock tunes – that we reckon you Young Guns fans must be getting pretty excited about! But first, here’s vocalist Gustav Wood to tell you 10 Things You Need To Know about Bones…

1.       You’re going to concert with the lyrics
“On the last album, I feel like I maybe gave a little too much of myself away and it was too personal. I think that there’s an art to writing lyrics that can be interpreted in different ways and having a little bit of ambiguity means that people can project themselves onto the lyrics. I’m very proud of how they’ve turned out.”

2.       Making the album was a painful experience
“We put a lot of pressure on ourselves while writing the record. We’ve got ourselves into a position as a band where people want to see what we do nest and whether we are going to put out a great album or fuck it up completely. We had painful writer’s block and it was harrowing. Thankfully, the finished record sounds effortless!”

3.       The songs are stronger than ever
“We’re better musicians this time around. We pushed ourselves and didn’t want to tread water. I think that the first record felt a little pompous in some ways as we were still working out who we were as a band. We’ve now learnt the art of restraint and that’s improved our writing. I Was Born, I Have Lived, I Will Surely Die has almost got a [Bruce] Springsteen type thing going on with it!”

4.       The band grew up while making the album
“During the recording, we got to know each other better and work out who we are as people and as a band. There’s a fundamental joy and love that runs through the songs, there’s an excitement there. Among all the stress, there were these moments of epiphany that made it all worthwhile.”

5.       The tracks are written for stadiums
“We had tasters of doing big shows – like Reading and Leeds and playing with Bon Jovi – and we liked it! Now, this record features some of our biggest ever songs. When we wrote Dearly Departed, I had this vision of us playing it at night at an open air festival and it felt good. These songs will really work in a large environment.”

6.       Recording in Thailand inspired the songs
“One night we were all drinking Thai rum and sitting out balcony watching a huge thunderstorm roll in over the hills. I had a flashback to when I was a boy watching the rain out of my window. It reminded me do powerfully about how I felt as a kid, and it inspired me to write a song about the house I grew up in. We finished Broadfields that night. It was magical.”

7.       The artwork aims to make an impact
“It’s by Paul Jackson – the talented bastard! He did our Mirrors EP art, All Our Kings Are Dead and loads of our merchandise too. We didn’t want to go with an actual image of bones – it seemed too obvious. Bones for us means the secret, intimate thing that everyone has inside them. The image shows a woman lost in a moment of euphoria.”

8.       It’s the band’s most diverse record to date
“Bones is a little less heavy than the first album, but this record is more diverse, more direct, bigger and more anthemic. At the same time, we still love our riffs and heavy drops, we’re just working them in more tastefully. There’s even tender acoustic bits and an interlude called A Hymn For All I’ve Lost. There’s a lot going on!”

9.       The fans are going to love it!
“I was really aware this time around that people are going to listen to what we write and will connect with our songs. I think there’s a lot on the album that our fans are going to like. I wanted people to hear this record and for it to feel familiar to them, while still also writing songs for ourselves. Hopefully our fans will grow with us as we change and evolve.”

10.   This will be their springboard to stardom
“In some respects, Thailand was the best experience ever. We felt really empowered by the fact that we were in this beautiful place and that we had achieved something and that we could go on to do great things. The past couple of years have shown us that anything is possible and we believe – without meaning to sound trite – that if we put our minds to it, there isn’t a lot we can’t achieve!”

Gustav - 24.06.1983
John - 28.06.1982
Fraser - 24.11.1984
Simon - 17.05.1984
Ben - 13.10.1985
